My Ultimate & Favorite Brush Cleaner!

Hey ladies, I wanted to share with you guys how I clean my makeup brushes. Its super easy and you don’t need any high end product for that and most importantly its super affordable considering the size and price. 

Johnson's Baby Silky Sleek Shampoo

YESSS…. its my little man’s shampoo and it is such a good shampoo to clean your brushes. Its just AMAZING! 😀 It seriously removes all the dirt even the toughest and leaves the brushes super soft and they smell good as well.

How to use is simple… just put the shampoo on your palm and swirl your brush in it as much as required to remove foundation, shadows, powder, etc till its clean and just rinse and let it dry.

Chocolate for Beautiful Skin!

What chocolate for beautiful skin???!!! I know ladies sounds crazy for we’ve always been told its bad for the skin and gives pimples if you eat a lot of it but nooo… it has also got lots of benefits if you apply it on your skin. Chocolate is mainly made of Cocoa and it is very high in powerful antioxidants called flavonols which protect your skin from skin damaging free radicals. Cocoa has anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties. It is rich in minerals magnesium, sulphur, calcium, iron, copper, zinc, potassium, and manganese. Sulphur helps promote healthy and beautiful skin. Calcium is good for skin growth & regeneration, Cancer Prevention and retains moisture.

Here are a few tips how to nourish your skin and make some homemade Chocolate Masks. Please note you have to use chocolate with 70-90 % content of cocoa to see results. You may also use these masks on some other parts of your body if you wish so. Hope you all will love it 🙂

 

1) Chocolate Regenerating Face Mask

Mix 1 tablespoon of melted chocolate with 1 teaspoon of almond oil and 1 teaspoon of rose hip oil. Make sure that your mask is lukewarm and comfortable to touch. Add 1 drop of essential oil of the rose, mix all the ingredients very well and apply the mask on your face for 20 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water. The oils will help to regenerate your skin cells and chocolate will help tone and hydrate the skin.

2) Toning Chocolate Face Mask

This mask can tone your skin very well, hydrate it and even improve it’s elasticity. To prepare it you need to warm up 50 grams of “good” chocolate on the water bath. To prepare other ingredients you will need to blend them. Mix apple, banana, strawberries and water melon in your blender and put 2-3 tablespoons of this mix into the bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of your melted chocolate. If a big part of your tasty smoothy stayed in your blender – you can happily drink it, knowing that you care for your skin both from inside and out! Now, apply the mask on your face and neck and wait for about 20 minutes before rinsing the mask with lukewarm water.

3) Hydrating Chocolate Face Mask

To prepare this “wonder mask” take 50 grams of chocolate warm it up on the water bath till it becomes liquid. Then mix 1 tablespoon of this liquid chocolate with 1 tablespoon of olive oil (you can use sweet almond oil, linen oil or grape seed oil instead) and 1 egg’s yolk (you can skip egg’s yolk if you don’t like the smell of it. Chocolate with oil will also have wonderful effect.) Mix it all up very well and spread the mask all over your face and neck. Make sure that the temperature of your chocolate mask is comfortable to apply it on your face. Keep it on for about 15 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water.

4) Rejuvenating, hydrating and soothing Chocolate Mask

Mix 1 tablespoon of melted chocolate with 1 tablespoon of thick add-ons free cream and add 1 tablespoon of liquid honey. Apply this mask on your face and neck for about 15 minutes and then, rinse it with lukewarm water. If you still have some “stickiness” on your face, wipe your skin with your favorite toner

How to Remove Dark Circles

Dark circles are not a serious skin problem, but they make people look tired, exhausted, unhealthy and older. You can easily get rid of unsightly shadows under your eyes using some easy home remedies. Some of the main causes behind the formation of dark circles are heredity, aging, dry skin, prolonged crying, working for long hours in front of a computer, mental or physical stress, lack of sleep and an unhealthy diet. Both men and women of different age groups can have dark circles.

I am personally struggling with my dark circles for the past two years after giving birth to my cute little boy 🙂 I hope some of the tips are going to work out for you ladies! I prefer the cucumber, rose water and coconut oil tip.

 

1. Raw Potato

 

 

 

 

There are natural bleaching agents present in potato that can help lighten dark circles and get rid of puffiness around the eyes.

  • Grate one or two chilled potatoes to extract the juice. Soak a cotton ball in the juice and place it over your closed eyes. Make sure the juice covers the dark circles under your eyes as well as the eyelids. Allow the juice to sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse your eyelids well with cool water. Repeat once or twice daily for a few weeks.

  • Instead of potato juice, you can also use thick potato slices to remove dark circles.

 

2. Cucumber

 

 

 

Cucumbers have skin-lightening and mild astringent properties that help fix those raccoon eyes naturally. Plus, they have a soothing and refreshing effect.

  • Cut a fresh cucumber into thick slices and chill them in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Put the slices onto the affected skin area for about 10 minutes. Wash the area with water. Repeat twice daily for about a week or more.

  • Another option is to mix cucumber juice with lemon juice in equal amounts. Use a cotton ball to apply the mixture on the affected skin. Leave it on for 15 minutes and then wash it off with water. Follow this remedy daily for at least one week.

 

3. Almond Oil

 

 

 

Almond oil is a great natural ingredient that is very beneficial for the delicate skin around your eyes. Regular usage of almond oil will help fade your under eye circles. In addition to almond oil, you can use vitamin E oil to eliminate dark circles under the eyes.

  1. Before going to bed, apply a little almond oil over the dark circles and gently massage it into the skin.

  2. Leave it on overnight.

  3. The next morning, wash it off with cold water.

  4. Follow this remedy daily until the dark circles disappear.

 

4. Tomato

 

Tomatoes have bleaching properties that can lighten skin to a great extent.

  • Mix one teaspoon of tomato juice with one-half teaspoon of lemon juice. Gently apply this mixture on the dark circles and allow it to sit for 10 minutes. Rinse it off with water. Follow this remedy twice a day for a few weeks. Simply using tomato juice will also work.

  • You can also drink a glass of tomato juice with some mint leaves, lemon juice and salt. For maximum results, be sure to drink this juice immediately after making it. Drink it once or twice a day for about a week.

 

5. Rose Water

 

 

 

Rose water has incredible ingredient for skin care. It rejuvenates the skin and has a soothing effect on tired eyes. Due to its mild astringent properties, it also works as a good skin toner.

  1. Soak cotton eye pads in pure rose water for a few minutes.

  2. Put the soaked pads on your closed eyelids.

  3. Leave them on for about 15 minutes.

  4. Follow this remedy twice daily for a few weeks.

 

6. Coconut Oil

 

 

 

 

Massaging with coconut oil is another effective natural remedy to lighten dark circles. Due to its moisturizing quality, coconut oil also promotes smooth skin and prevents wrinkles and fine lines under eyes.

  1. Simply massage some extra-virgin coconut oil on the under eye area.

  2. Leave it on for a few hours, and then wash it off.

  3. Repeat two to three times daily for a few months or until you are satisfied with the results.

 

7. Tea Bags

 

 

 

 

The caffeine and antioxidants present in tea can be highly beneficial for getting rid of dark circles as well as puffiness under eyes by shrinking the blood vessels and reducing fluid retention. The tannin, in particular, help decrease swelling and discoloration.

  1. Chill two used green or black tea bags in the refrigerator for about half an hour.

  2. Place one tea bag over each eye and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes.

  3. Remove the tea bags and wash your face.

  4. Repeat once or twice daily for a few weeks.

 

 

8. Lemon Juice

 

 

 

The vitamin C present in lemon juice can also help remove dark circles under the eyes, thanks to its skin lightening properties.

  • Use a cotton ball to apply fresh lemon juice around your eyes. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and rinse it off. Do this once daily for a few weeks.

  • Another option is to make a thick paste by mixing one tablespoon of lemon juice, two tablespoons of tomato puree, a pinch of gram flour (besan) and turmeric powder. Apply this thick paste gently around your eyes. Rinse it off with clean water after 10 to 15 minutes. Repeat two or three times every week.

Note: If the lemon juice causes a burning sensation then discontinue its use. Be careful not to get it in your eyes.

 

9. Cold Compress

 

 

 

 

 

Cold compress can constrict the blood vessels under the eyes and help a lot in reducing eye puffiness and dark circles.

  • Put it over your closed eyelids for several minutes. You can also soak a washcloth in cold water or cold milk.

  • Alternatively, you can wrap a few ice cubes in a soft napkin and place it under your eyes for a few minutes. You can also use a bag of frozen peas, a chilled teabag or a cold spoon.

Follow these remedies a few times daily.

 

10. Turmeric

 

 

 

Turmeric has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help minimize dark circles. It will also make the skin around your eyes smoother and softer.

  1. Mix two teaspoons each of turmeric powder with pineapple juice to make a thick paste.

  2. Apply this paste to the affected area.

  3. Leave it on for about 10 minutes before wiping it away with a soft, damp cloth.

  4. Do this daily until you get positive results.

Making your eyelashes grow naturally can actually save you a ton on mascara! If you have naturally long eyelashes, who says you need to invest in a lot of mascara? So ladies, with the hype lately being long eyelashes, I’ve got the low-down on the top tips on how to make your eyelashes grow naturally! 1. DIET

 

 

Your diet can actually affect how your eyelashes grow too. If you have a really bad diet and are constantly eating up fatty foods, you might see that your eyelashes aren’t as long as they could be. Switch up your diet and get some fruits and veggies in there and you’ll notice a huge difference!

 

2. BRUSH EYELASHES

 

 

It sounds weird right? There are actually small little combs that you can use to brush your eyelashes out before you put on that mascara, but did you know that by brushing your eyelashes, you can actually make them grow a little longer? This is truly one of my favorite tips on how to make your eyelashes grow that is easy to do!

 

3. MASSAGE EYELIDS

 

 

Eyelashes can fall out, they can even break and be brittle if we do happen to mistreat them. This means that rubbing your eyelids and actually stimulating the hair follicles can actually truly help make your eyelashes grow stronger and longer in no time at all!

 

4. OLIVE OIL

 

 

I actually swear by this tip on how to make your eyelashes grow. It really works! Just by adding a bit of olive oil to your lids at night will truly help your eyelashes soak up all of the vitamins and minerals in olive oil!

 

5. VITAMIN E

 

 

Before you give up and go with just a lengthening mascara though, why not try some straight Vitamin E? Vitamin E lotion is a great way to really increase your eyelashes and really, the vitamin that will push your eyelashes to the max of growth.

 

6. FOCUS ON PROTEIN

 

 

Sometimes, a healthy diet enough may not be enough to grow your eyelashes back out. If you’re not getting enough protein, no amount of fruits and veggies will fix it. While you shouldn’t overdose on protein, you do need it to grow your hair out, even your eyelashes. Eat more body-friendly proteins instead of red meat or heavily processed powders. I like raw vegan protein powders for a cleaner option, and like to focus on wild fish, which is full of benefits. Eggs are another great option, but be sure to buy them from a reputable source if you can.

 

7. TAKE BIOTIN

 

 

Known as the hair, nail and skin vitamin, biotin is a B vitamin that will make your hair grow incredibly fast! I grew my eyelashes out in 3 months by taking biotin every single day. I like supplements that are allergen friendly, and it’s good to start with a 5,000 mcg supplement for extra strength.

 

8. USE VASELINE

 

Instead of spending your money on something that could darken your eyes, why not try something easy and quick? Just a little swipe of Vaseline on your eyelid before you go to bed will increase your lashes and will make them longer! This will take a while to see results, but trust me, it works and it’s so easy!

 

9. TRY LASH ACCELERATOR

 

Did you know that there are actually lash accelerator mascaras out there? Rimmel London has a great one and it really works! While you might spend a little more on mascara, in the end, you’ll save because your lashes will grow longer and thicker. Try it and tell me how you love it! 10. LENGTHENING MASCARA

 

Finally ladies, if you truly can’t get your eyelashes to grow, there is always lengthening mascara that you can try.

 

11. DON’T PULL

 

 

When washing your makeup off, be sure not to pull your eyelashes. I like mascara that comes off really easily to prevent tugging and pulling at lashes. Pulling stunts growth and undoes all the hard work you’ve put into making those lashes grow again! My favorite mascara at the moment is Physician’s Formula AquaProof mascara. It’s affordable, available at any drugstore, it stays on all day, is water-proof, and it comes off easily with a little makeup remover.

Fake Eyelashes – How to Apply, Remove & Clean!

Using false eyelashes may be an excellent option if you want to increase the length and volume of your eyelashes without the hassle of putting on different types of mascara every time you want to accent your lashes. I specially love long and voluminous lashes as it definitely makes one glamorous and sophisticated.

 

How to Apply Fake Eyelashes?

1. False eyelashes may be trimmed in width or length to suit your eye size or personal preference. Try original length before cutting.

2. Apply false eyelash glue sparingly to lash band. Wait 10 seconds for adhesive to become sticky.

3. Position false eyelashes slightly above your natural lash and press ends into place. Gently press across entire lash until set.

4. To remove, gently peel false eyelashes band off lid, starting at outer corner. Remove adhesive from band and place your false eyelashes back to the tray for re-use.

 

So, you have finally tried on those long fake eyelashes and realized what beauty it brings your face. After a whole night of party or a day of glamour, you are faced with one great dilemma: how to remove false eyelashes.

The good news is that removing fake eyelashes is not as difficult as applying them. Removing false lashes may initially feel dangerous because you stand the risk of pulling away your natural eyelashes as well. Remember that this can only happen if you peel it off haphazardly without care or caution.

 

How to remove fake eyelashes without losing your real lashes?

 

1. Never remove it by tugging. Chances are, you might pull off some of your real lashes as well, and this can become very tragic! Go gentle on those fake eye lashes and handle them as though they could be real.

2. Start by dabbing fake eyelash remover on your lash line with a cotton swab. You can gently tap the swab at the base in order to loosen out the eyelash glue. Start applying from the outer edge inwards. You may use some eye makeup remover as an alternative. It would also be good to let it soak for a few seconds in order to soften the adhesive glue. (Do not leave it out too long as it will dry out eventually.)

3. After making sure that it has fully softened, take one corner of the lash band (for full fake eyelashes) and gently pull off the eye lashes. For individual fake eye lashes, it is best to use a good pair of tweezers for more precision when pulling.

4. Remove all possible traces of eyelash glue by dabbing some more eyelash remover. Finally, cleanse your eyes and the rest of your makeup with a good make up remover.

 

 

Another alternative for removing Fake Eye Lashes is to use soap and water to loosen adhesive glue as effective as eyelash removers. Some also soak the area with olive oil or virgin coconut oil to achieve the same glue loosening effect.

 

 

How to Clean, Reuse & Store the Eyelashes?

 

You can actually reuse your fake eye lashes provided that you maintain them and keep them clean at all times. After removing them carefully, soak them in a tiny amount of warm, soapy water to remove the glue, dust particles, as well as false eyelash mascara that you possibly applied. Use tweezers to pull off glue particles. You can also soak them in your eyelash remover solution instead of soapy water. You can use a moustache brush or some other gentle brush for cleaning between those lashes. Afterwards, dry them and store them back in their original container.

 

If you take care of it properly, you can reuse it many times. I have known people who keep using the same lashes for about 30 times! 🙂 I know that’s really a lot but if you know how to take care of them you may use them for quite some time.

DIY for Shining Nails

Take warm pure almond oil and soak the fingers and nails in it for 10 minutes. Massage the oil on the nails and on the skin around nails. Wipe off with a moist towel.

DIY for Soft Hands

Get soft hands in just 1 minute. Take some Sugar put in your palm and put Olive oil and scrub.

And Voila!!! Soft looking hands with shining nails! 😉
